If you have a zero waste store near you, many carry the gallon containers of Dr. The gallon will last us several months, while the 16oz bottle may only last a few weeks depending on the time of year (I use it more in the summer as a weed killer). That’s when buying in bulk is beneficial. Glass is the best choice in terms of waste, but not for our budget or for purposes of reducing our consumption of materials. I could buy the smaller glass bottle, but it’s more expensive and I have to buy it more often. For example, we buy the gallon jugs of vinegar. But shit, isn't that better than shipping probably millions of pounds of water all over the world just because the powers that be assume we're all too stupid to be able to handle diluting a concentrated soap or shampoo or whatever?Īnd I know, I know this is absolutely awful to say, and I'm just spit balling here, but if people are really too dumb to handle diluting, then are they also the same people who are digging their heels in against switching to green alternatives that we DESPERATELY NEED? Also the soaps and detergents and cleaners would still be bad for the environment. People could get hurt if they don't know it needs to be diluted (but there could be a huge warning slapped on the packaging + the stores that sell these products could have people sign something at the cash register acknowledging that the product has changed to a concentrate). I mean obviously there are some concerns with doing that. why tf can't all the existing household goods brands just start shipping concentrated versions of their products like tomorrow?
